The Construction Mental Health Summit is a half day workshop that will focus on the importance of understanding and leading through vulnerability, courage, connection, and compassion. Participants will join in this interactive experience to discuss the importance of courage, connection, and compassion in our personal and professional values. There are many things we can do to take care of ourselves at a deeper level as well as those we lead. Consider attending the Construction Mental Health Summit.

  • 1:00 PM – 1:15 PM: Kickoff & Welcome by Alex Kopp (Summit Moderator) 
    • Welcome to the inaugural Construction Mental Health Summit, sponsored by Procore and in partnership with the CIASP. This kickoff will introduce you to the goals of the summit, instructors Justin Azbill and Josh Rizzo, discuss why Mental Health is so important to Procore, and highlight the work of the CIASP.  
  • 1:15 PM – 2:00 PM: Courage and Vulnerability 
    • This session will focus on personal experiences navigating mental health challenges  
  • 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Taking Care of the Pilot 
    • Attendees in small groups will have the chance to experience Peer Groups, inventory and reflect on their own lives and self-care, and learn ways to lead and take care of themselves at a deeper level. 
  •  3:00 PM – 4:00 PM:  Taking Care of the First Class Cabin 
    • Attendees in small groups will have the chance to reflect on the relationships they have and how to better engage and support those closest to them.  
  • 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM:  Taking Care of the Main Cabin 
    • Attendees in small groups will have the chance to share their perspectives and experiences around leadership and learn ways to lead and take care of those they’re responsible for at a deeper level.

The Construction Risk Management Summit is a half day workshop designed to push the limits for senior safety and health professionals or those with risk management responsibilities. This summit will focus on key topics in construction risk management including Auto, Workers Comp, Rework, Prequalification, and an overview of the economics of an injury. You will hear from senior EHS leaders, contractor safety professionals, and directly from the insurance industry. This inaugural summit will leave you more knowledgeable about insurance and risk management in construction.

    • This group breakfast is offered only to registered participants in the Construction Risk Management Summit. Breakfast will be onsite near the room for the summit

  • 8:15 AM – 9:15 AM: Auto Policies and Nuclear Verdicts by CNA  
    • Nuclear verdicts drive up the costs of goods and services, make insurance riskier to offer, and more difficult to obtain. This session will look at the relationship between auto and nuclear verdicts and address the question, is the problem getting worse? 
  • 9:15 AM – 10:00 AM: Insurance Hot Topics with SMEs (Shawn Egan Moderator) 
    • This session will excite attendees and be your unfiltered view of the industry from the perspective of subject matter experts across the industry. Join contractors, trade associations, and insurance providers in this Q&A-style session to uncover best practices in the industry. Feel free to bring your questions!

    • The impacts of incidents are often misunderstood or not given the attention they deserve. We will take a look behind the curtain to unveil perspectives to motivate all levels of management to focus on proactive management and understand how important it is to “over manage” after an incident.  You will have a better understanding of project profitability, after the fact, and what it takes to recover.  
  • 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM: Prequalification by CNA with Don Campbell (P1 Group) 
    • Prequalification is an industry buzzword and has many owners and safety professionals on the edge of their seats. In this session hear from Insurance experts and Contractor veterans on the impacts of prequalification on the industry and mechanical contractors.
