Matthew Koon is the President of Environmental Health & Safety Solutions, Inc. (EHSS), located near Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. He joined the EHSS team in June of 2017 and has continually focused on supporting their partners/clients with best-in-class services tailored to their specific needs. Matt’s first role with EHSS was to act as PSC Crane & Rigging’s EH&S Director. Key accountabilities for this role included supporting / advising PSC’s President and Sr. Management team on safety leadership, 100/0 cultural initiatives and ownership, leading industry best practices, and building trust at all levels of the organization through coaching, open communication, accountability, and respect. Additional responsibilities included monitoring, providing, or improving safety systems and the tools to guide and maintain a safe, effective, sustainable, and legally compliant work environment. Prior to EHSS, Matt was the HSE Director for a multi-disciplined contractor servicing the gas, energy, and chemical processing markets in the Northeast. He has over twenty years of experience providing safety leadership at the corporate and field level in commercial construction, general industry, and oil & gas manufacturing. Matt has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, from Marshall University, and has continued his education in the environmental sciences and in leadership / cultural development. He is also an experienced OSHA Outreach Trainer for the construction industry. EHSS is an affiliate member of The Association of Union Constructors, (TAUC), a member of the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association, (SC&RA), and the Ohio Valley Construction Employers Council, Inc. (OVCEC).
