Jason Konrad

In the Industrial Construction and Fabrication industry, we owe our success to the integrity and dedication of our people, their professionalism and attention to safety and quality. Having the right people, dedicated experienced employees, willing to learn, and willing to work beyond the needs of a particular project, is what will make or break any company. We are those people. At the heart of AZCO is a group of dedicated professionals willing to do whatever it takes to deliver what you need, when you need it, safely. As our Corporate Safety Director, Jason Konrad is responsible for the health, safety and environmental issues facing the field project site locations, fabrication shops, and corporate offices of AZCO. He develops and provides technical and developmental direction on all safety and health policies and programs for AZCO, including implementing safety training programs for all employees. Jason regularly oversees, monitors and updates safety programs for compliance with safety and health regulations, including hazard and risk assessments. Jason directs the planning, execution, and reporting of company-wide safety training and development, safety audits and reports on work compensation claims, insurance claims, analytics, and related information to the entire company. Jason is a member of our executive team, working with senior management and human resources in hiring, developing and overseeing project safety staff and regularly visits field projects and fabrication shop locations. Additionally, his leadership skills have proven beneficial as a member of the TAUC Environmental, Health & Safety Group. Since joining AZCO, Jason has provided leadership, supported the development of his team and is responsible for making sure 100% of the AZCO Safety Department hold accreditation from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. The management and direction of the team’s increased safety communication to the project locations has earned AZCO national recognition, including 2017 MCAA Contractor of the Year, in both 2017 and 2019 the Zero Injury Institute Award for One Million Man Hours without a Lost-Time Incident, and three awards for projects completed with Zero Recordable Injuries. Over the course of Jason’s 19-year career in the field of safety, he has worked in strategic policy development, implementation and compliance, alcohol and substance abuse programs, and building safety compliance programs for construction companies from the ground up. Jason started at AZCO originally as a Site Safety Manager responsible for project locations and the team of trades working at each. Expanding his experience and responsibilities Jason moved to Regional Safety Manager at Edward Kraemer and Sons Construction, and from there to Senior Safety / Construction Manager at Integrated Risk Solutions, working with the WI Department of Transportation overseeing multiple projects of road construction including the safety of crews working heavy equipment, cranes, mass excavation and bridge construction. Before rejoining AZCO, Jason worked with Lunda Construction Company responsible for all safety requirements covering OSHA, EPA, FRA, DOT, DNR, and owner specific requirements. The depth and breadth of increased knowledge was exactly what made Jason the best candidate to move AZCO’s safety program forward.
