National Leader in Construction Safety, Mental Health Advocacy, and Organizational Leadership
With more than 30 years of leadership in the construction industry, Dr. Justin Azbill is a respected voice and operational force known for his grit, authenticity and unwavering advocacy for America’s trade professionals. His mission is to elevate the people who build this nation through leadership rooted in integrity, vulnerability and purpose.
Dr. Azbill has held senior leadership roles with Kiewit Power, Suffolk Construction, Cannistraro, Callahan Construction and Milwaukee Tool. Throughout his career, he has helped shape the future of safety and organizational culture. His leadership has earned numerous industry honors, including the OSHA VPP Star Award (the first awarded to a construction site in Region 1), the MCAA Milwaukee Tool Safety Professional Award, ESGR DOD Patriot Award, NSC Safety Excellence Award and the ABC Platinum STEP Award.
His groundbreaking program, The Human Side of Leadership, challenges traditional leadership models by emphasizing emotional intelligence, mental health and authentic connection in the workplace. As a founding member of Safety for Safety (S4S), he leads national conversations on psychological safety, self-care and suicide prevention in the trades.
Dr. Azbill earned his Ph.D. in organizational leadership through academic work at Johnson County Community College, the University of Kansas, Thomas Edison State University and National University. He currently serves as chair of the ISEA Education Committee and as a director-at-large on the Board of Trustees for the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention.
